How can smart speakers convey more usability at home?
Digging deep into the current smart speaker market.
Together, as a team of five, we immersed ourselves in a market that was in need of an upgrade. Taking a comprehensive perspective, we produced over 300 pages of in-depth research, identifying more than 100 potential new market directions.
Key features are tied to the speaker’s power location radius.

How does it work?
The wireless charging dock allows for portability from room to room, ensuring continuous use.
It features a volume dial and an adaptive angled touch display with haptic feedback for intuitive interaction. A mechanical mute switch and on/off button ensure privacy.

A true multi-room speaker.
Pick up and go rooms.
The seamless separation between the speaker and the charging station is the formative element of the design. The volume dial’s shape is repeated at the joint, forming a rounded base that vanishes into the charging station.
Haptic dial lets you feel
the sound increasing.
The volume ring, is made of matt aluminum and has a slight ribbing to enhance the semantics of a dial.
An interface that adapts.
The smart speaker is operated via an OLED touch display, which changes its visual information depending on use.

A portable smart speaker which is easily removable from its charging station, featuring a touch screen paired with a mechanical volume dial.
